Remember This?

Well tonight I thought I'd give you all a break from my whining. I'm sure you must all be sick of reading about how difficult I'm finding it being home with two kids. I know I'm sick of writing about it. I will just say that Abby did her day of hard labour for the baby oil incident without too much complaining. I wasn't too hard on her. Just the standard breaking up of rocks and moving them from one pile to another pile 50 feet away. A mere 8 hours of that and I felt she had paid her penance. I'm just kidding, I only made her do 6 hours.

Tonight I'm going to talk about something much more important, the finale of Dancing With the Stars. Yeah I'll admit it, Dancing with the Stars was our guilty pleasure. Michael actually started watching it first, but I'll go out on a limb and wager that it had more to do with Stacy Keibler's 42 inch legs and skimpy costumes than it did with ballroom dancing. Not that I'm really one to talk, it wasn't too long before I was habouring a serious crush on one Drew Lachey. The thing about Drew is, he isn't hot. Well I don't think so. I mean he's cute and all, but in comparison Brad Pitt is hot. George Clooney is hot. Drew Lachey is just cute, not that there's anything wrong with that. I'll tell you though, when a man can dance like he can..... WOW! His hot factor shot right through the roof. Especially during that freestyle dance to Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy, by my favourite guys Big & Rich. That was impressive! No question they deserved to win. I'm sorry to see the show go, but it frees up my Thursday nights. Thursday was getting to be a bad TV night what with Dancing with the Stars, Survivor, Will & Grace and the Office all being on.

Tonight on Corner Gas they were poking fun at the old Canada Fitness Program we used to have when we were in elementary school. There would be an actual day of events like the shuttle run, flexed arm hang and the standing long jump. Remember those? Mike seems to think it was called Canada's Fitness Day, but I really can't remember. Dave's usually good at recalling useless crap like that. Much like the Olympics you were awarded a bronze, silver or gold, but the vast majority of us came home with a shiny participation ribbon. I believe it was purple, I received several myself. The Canada Fitness Program, and this is what likely led to it's downfall, was cocky. Thought it had scoring figured out better than the Olympics. Gold just wasn't good enough for them. You see in the CFP if you were good enough to bring home the gold, well you just brought home second place. I mean everybody knows the red "Award of Excellence" trumps gold every time. Yeah you heard me right. The Award of Excellence was considered first, gold second, silver third and bronze fourth. It's no wonder they turfed the program. These days competition in school is a dirty word and here's a program that says... gold, nahh not good enough. Ahh the good old days.

Speaking of fitness, my own diet is coming along nicely. I have lost an additional 3 pounds. I've also started to input some lifestyle changes. No eating after 8:30 pm. That one's been a bit hard, but I'm realizing that eating late at night is more a boredom thing than a hunger thing. So that kelps knowing that. Also at dinner I try and make sure than half my plate is veggies. I won't say I manage that every night but 3 out of the last 4. I figure that's a good start.

Well folks Maya's finally crashed out on my lap, so that means I get to go to bed. Peace out!
