Back in the day when we were a one child family it was relatively easy to make sure the house was in reasonable order. I could put Abby down on the floor to crawl around and not worry about what she might find while she was down there. I wish I could say the same was true for Maya, but it's not. In fact a large portion of my day is spent extracting things from her mouth. You see I can vacuum until the cows come home, but unless Abby is willing to move out there is always going to be something on the floor for Maya to stuff in her mouth.
So what exactly have a removed from Maya's mouth?
Playdoh
popcorn
popcorn kernels
sandwich crumbs
pink tinsel from a party hat
Abby's hair
pieces of paper
grass
leaves
helicopter seeds (multiple times)
freezie wrappers
a very tiny chicken, actually two very tiny chickens
Things I'm surprised I haven't found:
Polly Pocket shoes
Polly Pocket purses
drink 'n box straws
drink 'n box straws plastic wrapper
Beanie Baby Tags
pink/white fluff from Abby's dress up shoes
I'm still not certain how she manages to find every single tiny thing on the carpet that shouldn't be in her mouth. Maybe that's why she's still doing the miltary style body drag/crawl thing. It allows her to sneak up on her prey. Those tiny chickens never knew what hit them.
