I have mentioned before that I don't really care to share my bed with my kids. Sometimes I think it would be a good idea to cuddle up and have a nap with Abby and 5 minutes later, after she's started grinding her teeth but before she starts kicking me, I'm trying to figure out what the hell I was thinking and wondering if she's "asleep enough" for me to carry her across the hall to her own room.
Occasionally Abby will try to sleep with us, so I had to implement a 5 minute rule. She is allowed to get into bed with me for 5 minutes then she has to head back to her own room. At some point she will tiptoe across the hall, turn on my bedside lap and sit patiently on the side of the bed, waiting for me to tell her she can get in. Then she snuggles up to me until I tell her the 5 minutes is up. The great thing about this age is Abby has no concept of time. So I can send her back after two minutes or some nights she stays for 20 minutes if I happen to drift off. Ordinarily this isn't something she does very often, but in the last week or so it's become a nightly occurrence. I don't think it will be ending any time soon either since tonight when I put her to bed she whispered, "See you tonight for my 5 cuddles."

A five minute or less late night rendezvous never sounded so fun :)
Sounds very familiar, but I don't have as much resolve as you and lately my baby girl is sleeping in my bed for the whole night lol...I am starting to put a stop to it though.
P.S... I've finally added another entry to my blog...
Michelle, I do like her visits. I think they've become a nightly thing because she missing all the one on one time now that I'm back to work.
Heather, resolve is an easy thing to lose. In your situation I would very likely have the same scenario. In fact I crawled into my Mom's bed many many nights.
