A $15 nap

We live on a mountain that's not really a mountain. If you've ever seen a mountain, it's pretty obvious our little hill has no business calling itself one and yet it does. Or I guess, more accurately we do. Us locals.

Local #1: Where are you going?
Local #2: I'm going down the mountain.

Local #1: Where do you live?
Local #2: I live up the mountain.

So anyway tonight we rounded the last curve before heading down the mountain, it was dark, the city lights were lit. And from the back seat; "Wow Mom! You can see everything from up here!"

Now what exactly were we doing heading down the mountain, after dark no less, on this bitterly cold evening? We (Mike, Yoli, Abby and I) had tickets to see the Bulldogs play the Marlies. We were looking forward to seeing the game, but more importantly we went for this.

Somewhere in that gaggle of kids is Nikki, who had the extreme pleasure of singing the national anthem tonight before the game. Oddly enough, although maybe just to me, they sang the American national anthem even though it was two Canadian teams playing. I guess us Canadians are just uber respectful that way.
