don't quote me - the results show

So the movie quote game... that was fun, huh? Well I had fun with it, so you should expect to see this again. More importantly the movie quote quiz was further proof that Karen and I are soul mates and that she could definitely hold her own in this movie quoting household of ours. So for those of you who didn't rock the quiz, Karen style (8 out of 10 right) here are the answers.

Movie #1: In this corner, weighing in at 110 pounds and pushing 89 years of age and the recent recipient of a brand new plastic hip, Joseph "Blue" Polaski.

Old School: Very likely one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. It was hard to pick just one quote, there are so many funny ones. Plus Luke Wilson and Vince Vaughn.... together, there's not much else this girl needs.

Movie #2: No, I don't think I will kiss you, although you need kissing, badly. That's what's wrong with you. You should be kissed and often, and by someone who knows how.

Gone With The Wind: What can I say, it's a classic. There is no better on screen duo than Rhett and Scarlett.

Movie #3: I should've never gotten on that plane. I should've never gotten out of the car.

Cast Away: I really think Tom Hanks was robbed of an Oscar for this one. I mean for half the movie he was the only actor onscreen, no offense to Wilson. That is pretty impressive that he could carry a movie for that length of time.

Movie #4: Ten oughta do it, don't you think? You think we need one more? You think we need one more. All right, we'll get one more.

Ocean's Eleven: This is like movie nirvana.... Matt Damon, Brad Pitt and George Clooney. Not mention great dialogue and a terrific ensemble, but really it's all about Brad and George, they may be the best onscreen duo. May. Be.

Movie #5: What makes you think you can just walk in there and take whatever you want?

They're called boobs, Ed.

Erin Brokovich: This is one movie I watch ever time I see it on TV. I have no idea why I don't have it on dvd.

Movie #6: You know how they say we only use 10 percent of our brains? I think we only use 10 percent of our hearts.

Wedding Crashers: Owen Wilson, who I love crooked nose and all, at his cheesiest best. The scene where Vince Vaughn is talking to the priest about his latest conquest makes me pee my pants. Vince Vaughn at his best. I heart him.

Movie #7: I don't want your life.

Varsity Blues: That football movie with the guy from Dawson's Creek (hey.. what happened to him?). This isn't one of my favourites, I've got to be honest with you. Mike watched it like I watch Erin Brokovich. Every single time it was on and it is not a great movie. However, I do tell him "I don't want your life" every chance I get. I even attempt a southern accent when I say it. Yeah.. it's not pretty.

Movie #8: They call me Cha Cha because I'm the best dancer at St. Bernadette's.

With the worst reputation.

Grease: Is the word baby! I think Abby would love this movie, but I'm a little reluctant to show it to her. Opinions?

Movie #9: First she steals my publicity. Then she steals my lawyer, my trial date. And now she steals my goddamn garter.

Chicago: I am a sucker for a good musical. I thought this made the move from stage to screen very well. And who knew Richard Gere could tap dance?

Movie #10: We can stay up late, watch Scary Movies, and in the morning, I'm making waffles!

Shrek: Of course, what else. I'm scared to even tabulate how many times I've seen this movie.

Thanks to all who played and don't forget to pop on over to Virtually There and congratulate Karen on sweeping the movie quote game.

Feel like playing some more? The Mommy has a game up over at The Mommy Project, check it out.

Gee, thanks for the kudos! It was great fun... I've done the Mommy's too now and I think I'll have to play along on my site. A project for tomorrow!

I love so many of these movies--I can't get enough of all those "Frat Pack" movies like Old School and Wedding Crashers. Snort.

I knew I recognized a few of those, but most I've never actually seen the movies! LOL

I was totally right (in my head) about "cast away".

And I'm with you on Grease. I was JUST telling a friend a few hours ago that I thought Emily would LOVE all the singing and dancing, but that I was hesitant to show it to her because of the implied things, and the smoking and drinking. I'm torn. Considering I actually own the movie, I'm sure she'll see it sooner than later! LOL
