what's cooking wednesday - hoagie bake

There is a picture of this recipe somewhere. Where exactly? I do not know. Maybe the old computer. Who knows? What I do know is I'm too tired to look any further. So I'm going to ask that just this once you put on your imagination hats and imagine what this would look like. And I promise that when and if I find the picture I will post it almost immediately.

Hoagie Bake

2 can refrigerated crescent rolls
6 slices black forest ham
6 slices salami
6 slices smoked turkey breast
6 slices swiss cheese
6 slices provolone cheese
3 eggs, beaten
2 tbsp grated parmesan

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cover the bottom of a 9 X 13 baking dish with 1 package of crescent rolls, unroll and pinch the seams together. Cover the rolls with the swiss cheese. Layer salami, ham and smoked turkey. Top with provolone cheese slices. Spread 1/2 of the beaten eggs over the cheese. Top with the second package of crescent rolls. Brush with the remaining beaten eggs and sprinkle them with parmesan cheese. Bake, uncovered, for 25 minutes. Cover with foil and bake for another 10 minutes.

Recipe Notes: I don't make this very often because the girls don't like it. What we like about it is it's versatility. It's so easy to switch up the meats or the cheeses and turn it into something different. Havarti is especially nice. Whatever floats your boat.

What is What's Cooking Wednesday and how can I play?

What's cooking Wednesday was born out of a desire to get out of that what's for dinner rut. Playing is easy, on Wednesday post a recipe that has been tried and tested by you and then pop over here and add your name to the Mr. Linky. When entering your name also add the name of the recipe in brackets and make sure you link to your What's Cooking Wednesday post and not just your blog's front page. And don't forget to link back here, the home of What's Cooking Wednesday.

So for example I would write Shan (Speedy Chicken Stir Fry) in the name section. For the URL section I would post this: http://shanrev.blogspot.com/2007/10/whats-cooking-wednesday-speedy-chicken.html

I'll let you in on a little secret. Much to Kaffy's chagrin, my WCW recipes are almost never made on a Wednesday. So feel free to cook and photograph whenever you have time and join us posting on Wednesday.

Crescent rolls are amazing. I can't wait to try this recipe. They're so easy to change up and they always tast great. We have a recipe with crescent rolls and marshmallows... they're so incredibly versatile.

Oh, Shan, this is a fabulous recipe! We do something similar that we call "taco pie" but since I have teens over all the time they'd LOVE this. Yay!

Normie - I usually put recipe pictures in my recipe photo folder labeled with the recipe name. Usually. Some times I forget then I can't remember where they went.

Renae - crescent rolls and marshmallows, that sounds interesting.

Jen - that sounds great too. I'm in for taco anything!

Leah - my kids won't touch it with a ten foot pole, but what do they know? :)

Anno - you said it.

Kaci - microwave meals are good too:)

B - glad you like it.
