t minus fifteen hours-ish

Tonight has the feel of Christmas Eve to it. I am wandering around this house in an advanced state of giddiness. Trying to kill the hours until it's time to crawl into bed with busy work and Guitar Hero (which is a post for another time folks. Seriously heart GH). My baby girl comes home tomorrow. And as much as I've tried to be blase about the whole thing I've missed that kid like you cannot imagine.

Don't get me wrong, I love that she had this time away with my Mom. I love that she got to spend time with Uncle Dave and Aunt Mel, especially with their latest travel plans which will have them on the other side of the world for 3 months (which again is a post for another time). I love that my Mom and TLP wanted to take the kids (TLP's grandson went as well). But 8 whole days is a very long time to not lay eyes on that adorable face, not to feel those little arms around my neck and not to hear her little voice telling me jokes and singing me songs. .

Yep, tonight feels like Christmas Eve and my greatest gift is coming home tomorrow.

that makes me tear up a little bit! I haven't been away from my kids more than three days and was chomping at the bit to get back home to them. I just can't imagine... But what a great time I'll bet Abby had and I can't wait to hear her thoughts about her time (video? typed quotes?) enjoy those hugs and jokes and songs!!

Betsy - it was non-stop chatter from the moment she walked in the door!

Leah - She did have a great time, but was very happy to be home! That was one seriously long week I'll tell you.
