They walked all over the falls, looked at it from many different angles, swam wherever they could, rode the tram up and down the hill and walked and walked and walked some more. And when she finally came home she was packed full of Niagara Falls history/trivia. I'm pretty sure she didn't stop talking for the first 24 hours she was home. She had to tell everyone(!) what she'd learned, what she saw and what she did.
So for this week's Friday High Five - Abby's Summer Vacation Highlights
1. I went down 86 metres to be beside the falls.
This is Granny and Abby during their walk behind the falls. Which, coincidentally was 86 metres down.
2. My favourite part was the level six rapids.
My Mom wondered if Abby would like to go on the maid of the mist. I had no idea. Abby is equal parts brave and not so brave, so it was a toss up. I mean that boat gets pretty close to the base of the falls. Turns out it was one of her favourite things about the trip especially after she found out that when Granny tried to take me (many moons ago) I refused to go.
3. Granny let me get a tattoo and it's going to last forever!
Or just a week as it is of the airbrushed variety.
4. The falls used to be big icebergs. Then one day the ice melted and it jammed the other ice and it broke and became the falls.
5. Giraffes are so tall they could reach all the way to my bedroom window.
They also hit up the zoo where the giraffes were one of the biggest hits of the day. Next to the water park and the hippos.
So yeah it was pretty much the best time ever. Granny and TLP are exhausted and have disappeared up north to recuperate at Uncle Dave and Auntie Mel's house.
