1. What is your favourite smell?
Cookies, well anything really, baking. Lilacs. Baby powder. And oddly enough, the smell of a cabbage patch doll. The girls have a couple and I have been known to steal a sniff when I'm tidying up. I grew up during CPK's heyday. I'm not quite sure how Santa managed to get one that Christmas, but I love that she did.
2. Did you/would you/are you co-sleep(ing)?
I really don't want to turn this into a debate. There's no judgment here. It's just co-sleeping was one of my "nevers". That of course was before I had kids. Specifically before I had Maya. My reasons for not co-sleeping were simply because it made me nervous. I couldn't rest when I had a little baby tucked in beside me. Of course Abby was a champion sleeper, who slept through the night by six weeks. Only because breathing all day completely exhausted her, what with the extra hard pumping her heart was having to do. Maya didn't sleep through the night until she was 2. There were nights that she just wouldn't sleep unless she was physically touching me. With all her breathing issues there was no way I could leave her upset and crying, so many a night found her tucked into bed between us. Even now at three and a half she still occasionally wants to be touching me while she's sleeping. Last night was one of those nights. And I indulged her. Which led to her rolling out of our bed at 2:30 this morning and splitting her lip wide open. That was less fun than you'd imagine.
3. Fall fair season is upon us, so what's your favourite fair food?
No question, the mini donuts. They remind me so much of the donuts my Grandma used to make when I was I kid. She'd drop them into a paper bag, all hot from the grease, and let us shake them up with cinnamon sugar. Best thing ever.
4. Thinking about Christmas shopping yet?
Oh you know I am. I have plans laid out for things I'd like to pick up for people. Stuff I'd like to make. So while I haven't done any official shopping yet, I am up to my eyeballs in the planning process.
5. What's your favourite colour?
I really love a nice deep burgundy.
So now the rules, they're pretty simple. Post your answers to these questions on your own blog in the next few days.
