what's cooking wednesday - the robin edition

Today is typically the day for my weekly What's Cooking Wednesday posts, but today is a very special day, it being Robin's birthday and all. Robin and I have been friends for a lifetime it seems. We met as two young single ladies and we've managed to rack up six girls and a couple of decades of marriage between us. We've seen each other through so much stuff. Good stuff, sad stuff, and all the stuff in between. At this point she is so much more than a best friend. She's my family. She's amazing and I am thankful every day that we met. Even if she's not jumping at the chance to be my next door neighbour. So today instead of a new recipe I'm going to share with you my favourite Robin recipes. Yep, I've shared them here before, but they're still wonderful just like Robin!

Chocolate Bailey Shooters - mmmmm these were fantastic and a nice change from the usual jello shots. And Robin and I have consumed our fair share of jello shots. Back when we were younger and didn't have to get up early with kids.

Chocolate Bar Trifle - Umm I could eat a lot of this in one seating. It is so incredibly yummy. I'd like to try it with different chocolate bars, but Mike like it as is. And reallY i'm fine with that too.

So that's it, just the two recipes. I don't want you walking out of here thinking Robin only makes two things well. She's a great cook. Her pulled pork sandwiches are out of this world. And when she hosts a party she puts out a heck of a spread, but she likes to keep her recipes closey guarded family secrets, so be thankful I managed to get her to share these with us.

What is What's Cooking Wednesday and how can I play?

What's cooking Wednesday was born out of a desire to get out of that what's for dinner rut. Playing is easy, on Wednesday post a recipe that has been tried and tested by you and then pop over here and add your name to the Mr. Linky. When entering your name also add the name of the recipe in brackets and make sure you link to your What's Cooking Wednesday post and not just your blog's front page. And don't forget to link back here, the home of What's Cooking Wednesday.

So for example I would write Shan (Speedy Chicken Stir Fry) in the name section. For the URL section I would post this: http://shanrev.blogspot.com/2007/10/whats-cooking-wednesday-speedy-chicken.html

I'll let you in on a little secret, my WCW recipes are almost never made on a Wednesday. So feel free to cook and photograph whenever you have time and join us posting on Wednesday

I love this post! I can't seem to get Mr. Linky to work, but for once I got my WCW post up in the morning, so I am so excited I had to share :)

I don't see Mr. Linky but I'll check back again later: here's my contribution, chicken fajitas.

I loved the trifle! I'll have to try those Bailey shooters, too. Best friends are just the... best. I made lemon/blueberry/cornmeal muffins today.
